Don’t miss the Welcome to Kabukiza,
running until Nov 23 (Sat), 2024!
I recently had the opportunity to visit Kabukiza Theater in Ginza and experience the special Welcome to Kabukiza program. This unique program is designed especially for beginners to Kabuki, providing an ideal introduction to the traditional Japanese performing art. It also includes an optional English captioning service, making it accessible for international visitors.
The program features an original introductory video, an act from a well-known drama about three thieves, and a dynamic dance performance by shishi, mythical lion-like creatures. Even for first-time viewers, this program offers an engaging introduction to Kabuki, complemented by informative and interesting displays in the theater’s lobby and corridors.
The current run of this program concludes on Nov 23 (Sat), but I sincerely hope that Welcome to Kabukiza ver. 2 will come soon to delight more audiences.
